Embrace the Cloud

So whats SaaS and what we think we know about taking our business to the cloud?  Well, I was pretty sure that I almost knew what it was myself. It’s programs or systems that you put on your computer so you can do things like accounting, booking services etc right?  It turns out I was wrong... well, kind of.

Software as a Service (or SaaS, pronounced sass) actually refers to software that is cloud-based and that you buy a subscription for. You can’t really see it, but it’s out there running your business.

So, if you’re a BookaSlot user, you pay a monthly fee and we handle everything else. Our awesome tech gurus handle servers, maintenance, updates, security… basically all the things that need to happen to keep BookaSlot happy and working, which makes your day easier. All you have to do is login each morning and get to work! Most SaaS are subscription based so if you decide you’re done with BookaSlot. Just stop subscribing next month.

This whole SaaS situation lets you take your work on the road – a mixed blessing, maybe, but what the hell... take that time off. Check in on your business wherever you are as long as you have an internet connection.

More importantly, your data isn’t at the mercy of your chaotic days. The cloud means that you can just log onto your account from another computer or smartphone and still have access to all of your data.

That’s why embracing the cloud is great for salon owners and managers. It takes away worries and expenses and lets you focus on your clients.

The SaaS model means your version of BookaSlot automatically gets the newest features and bug fixes every time we release them. You don’t have to manually update your software, or worse, deal with an unresponsive tech support.

Working in the cloud means we can do updates more often, adding features and enhancing the current ones so they work better. Bug fixes are super fast, and since we’re able to track where our customers are having trouble (or craving new features), we can respond directly to those needs.

A big component of SaaS is support, and that’s something we do really well. And the reason we can have such a wonderful support team is because we are local. We can be onsite within the hour if its something we cant help you fix on the cloud.

At BookaSlot, all the decisions we make are based on feedback from our customers. As a startup, we don’t have any room for wasting time. We’re super-focused on our vision to help our customers effectively take part in the digital economy. That’s why we’re a cloud-based company.

So now I know. A SaaS is not just another POS system. It is how small and medium-size businesses can onboard technology cheaper which helps them not just to be more productive but to allow them to evolve for the future.
